Web-surfing baboons might not agree with your assessment, but I'm pretty sure humans would. Those boxes are not supposed to be there.
:D
The boxes were there for me under Firefox and I was under the impression they were supposed to be. However I was pleasantly surprised to find them no longer there last night, so this must be fixed :)
It seems so. The boxes are gone. Now for the entire ratings system. :p

I did this for WWDC and enjoyed it more than reading the updates. I'll be doing it again for Macworld. It's just so much more exciting. :D

w00t. I'll be buying a 23' real soon at the edu price. I'm excited! I was hoping they'd add built in iSight or the ability to use Front Row with it, but oh well, It'll be sweet to use with my powerbook. I doubt they'd update them soon, seems like they would have just released new ones with the Mac Pro if they were going to do that.

I wish windows goes UNIX
There is more chance of you waking up on the moon tomorrow morning than happening. Hell would freeze over and they'd still be a reason why it isn't happening.
Unix has it's flaws too. I certainly think that NT is reaching a certain maturity to be considered just-as-good as Unix.

isnt the event being streamed live over to london for the us?
if so i am quietly optimistic about us uk'ers getting a new movie store along with the us. i see no reason to stream it to the uk if the annouced products wont be released here, thats just teasing!

Not that they need to change anything, obviously. Keep the same shatter prone design, horrible ergonomics, 3.5' screen and just bolt on the A5 chip and everyone'll still lap it up ;)
This, actually, is my biggest concern: That Apple will just be smug enough to think they don't need to do anything with the design.

Hopefully it's totally new from the ground up, ditch all the Win32/legacy crap that's hindered MSFT for years.
That would be idiotic by Microsoft.

Actually someone at Apple took the spoiler off the keynote URL page:
So, it's not here anymore:

But it is everywhere else on the site.
Very nice of them.

What on Earth are you talking about? What are people stealing in the Arn's summary? The modified code isn't capable of running OS X, and until they closed the source, Darwin worked on most generic x86 platforms anyway.
Someone fixes a lack of functionality that existed in previous public versions and you call it 'stealing'? WTF?
Because they fixed it with the intent to use it with Aqua. They will be stealing Aqua. I sincerely doubt anyone will go through the trouble just for command line only.
Even the blogger that was mentioned has a screen shot of Aqua running. There's the theft for ya :)

To be honest I don't care about the bitrate of audio tracks..
However if they brought American TV shows onto a global release date (ie we get them the same time as they do) - THEN i'd care about the update.
Anything else is just more clutter..
Don't be to hopeful... most of our (US) tv is crap. I'd rather watch BBC.

Hardline lets you get killstreaks a kill earlier. Hardline Pro lets you double tap X on a killstreak crate to switch out what's inside.
So, with this setup you can enable: SAM Turret for 3 kills, Care Package for 4, and Sentry Gun for 5. You can then switch out every single one of those for something random, which is usually Napalm Strike, B-52, or Valkyrie Rockets.
It's so overpowered.

Sounds like me sometimes with things not working and spending way more time than on it than I thought, hopefully you can get everything working, I think you are better at it than I am.
thanks. things aren't quite working out right at the moment. i think i might have messed up the motherboard somehow. my homebuilt i7 just isn't working right. i'm away for work during the week, but i think this coming weekend will spent on this computer again. i might have to buy another motherboard i'm thinking though

But people actually seem to hate Apple because they can't afford their products. Most of them admitted that had the iPhone been cheaper they'd buy one, hence they can't afford it so they are bitter.
Nail. Hit. On. The. Head.
In personal experience, most of the Apple 'haters' I've known have fallen into the category if they could afford an Apple product, then they wouldn't hate.
Hating something is easier than openly admitting 'I want that but cannot afford it', so by creating a hate figure out of the company/products, it makes it easier for the person to 'accept' that they will never own the product they secretly lust after.

Well, I'll grade myself:
[1] Lot's of puff about how well Apple is doing. Good news gospel on the iPhone. Pie Charts and bar charts, some early mention of sales figures.
Well we got this 1/1
[2] Leopard talk Apple haven't had an expo since the Leopard launch. Expect some interesting apps (3rd parties, almost certainly some mention of Office '08, possibly Bento) and talk of the capabilities and technologies in the new OS. We may get an update (10.5.2) and in it some surprises (whether it be QT 8, Java 6) or some iPhone technologies (error correction when typing) intergrated). Also look out for news on a how users will be exposed to the resolution independent UI. This may be particually impotant if number 5 on the list is being launch. Apple also said they'd be ready by '08.
Apple talked about Leopard - 2/2
Mention of Office '08 - 3/3
Other 3rd Party Apps - 3/4
Talk through technologies and capabilities of Leopard - 3/5
10.5.2 Update - 3/6
QT 8 - 3/7
Java 6 - 3/8
iPhone technologies in Leopard - 3/9
Res independence - 3/10
[3] Beetles on iTunes (at last!). This will lead into the the Music section of the keynote.
Not a whisper - 3/11
[3] iTunes Movie Rentals and iTunes 8 (UPDATE: Looks more likely to be a 7.6 release now.). Talk of the interplay between hardware-software, leading to the introduction of the:
Movie Rentals - 4/12
New iTunes - 5/13
[2] new TV + Apple Remote (in metal and using a similar clickwheel to the nano (you heard it here first)). Not sure were TV is headed, so I will not make too many predictions on this.
New Tv - 6/14
Same old white, plastic remote - 7/15
[5] MacBook Nano (possibly left to the end). It may have a pixel density considerably higher than current machines.
A bit more on this from here:
Quote:
[1] The drive will be a bus powered FW800 Super Drive. And you will pay for it, it won't be included in the box because:
[i] Some may have existing external burners they would rather use.
[ii] It would make the box bigger. Bigger, heavier boxes means more expensive shipping.
[iii] Apple will get to make even more money on each sale from people buying the matching optical drive.
[2] The ultra portable will retail for < $1600 (1400/1800) and be called the MacBook Nano.
[3] The MBP will get a facelift and a new keyboard to match the MacBook/new Apple Keyboard
And back to this one:
They gave it a better name, no nano - 7/16
Same pixel density as regular MacBooks - 7/18
No Firewire, let only FW 800 on the Air - 7/19
Drive not included - 8/20
US price - 8/21
UK price - 9/22
EU price - 10/23
New MacBook Pro - 10/24
That seems like enough. I have a sneaky suspicsion we may see a new app, because Apple likes writing Apps and they haven't done a new Applications in a long time (apart from Numbers). Apps are important to Apple because they drive the adoption of hardware.
New App - 10/25
Here's what we may not see:
[1] iPhone SDK, I think this may get a special event at another time.
[2] Any pro products (Mac Pro, Cinema displays) (UPDATE: Well we've already had the Mac Pro, so this is technically a correct prediction even before the expo even begins!).
No iPhone SDK - 11/26
No pro products - 12/261
So all in all a fairly decent 46% success. As is normally the case I tend to hope for too much new. Some of my predictions I completely stand behind and I think we will see them another day. This year I believe we will see:
- Res Independence UI being exposed to user via System Preferences.
- Java 6 on OS X.
- New Apple remote
- New keyboard on MacBook Pro
- A new application from Apple.

Moral of the story:
Never argue with someone with a $100,000,000 signal analysis lab or CAMPUS. Especially someone with incentive to publish scientific fact to demonstrate with science their own product is equal to, or superior to, their competitor's products in terms of a 'PR talking point' targeted to disparage the FASTEST GROWING and LARGEST MINDSHARE and HIGHEST MARGIN product in the segment.
Also you probably shouldn't argue with someone who has so little to say, everything they do actually say is cascaded along all forms of media, instantly, for free, and with perceived credibility. While the 'other companies' issue press releases and badly planned press conferences that end up lining bird cages and sitting in electronic in-boxes as uninteresting and insignificant.
Just a suggestion from the people at:
Rocketman

I already posted that there was an antenna hidden in the wall. Now my source tells me the copper rain gutters are really antennas.
They don't drop signal when leaves or rain hit the gutters, do they?
